Since Josh and I went off to get married by ourselves you can imagine the sad parents, family members and friends we had on our hands. We love our family and friends very much, but Josh and I wanted to get married privately and intimately...Nothing fancy...Just us.

But of course we wanted to share our union with our family and friends so we had a "WE DID IT PARTY" on 11.12.11.

We wanted something very intimate. So we went off to San Luis Obispo and got married on 9.10.11 on the beach...Just me, Josh, an officiant, a photographer, and a videographer. It was an amazing day!

Josh bought me a camera for my birthday. Josh made these signs and placed them around Bridgeport (A place that I love). He took pictures of the signs with the camera he bought me. Then he made a slideshow displaying the pictures. After the slide show was over, Josh was on one knee with teary eyes, holding a beautiful diamond ring.

Josh has a nick- "Boxer"-name for me. It's "Cathy 'CEREAL' Lee!" He calls me that because I have been having major cravings for cereal. It is cereal for breakfast; cereal for lunch; cereal for a snack; cereal for dinner and you guessed right, cereal for a mid-night snack. Specifically, it is a mix of Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds and Cinnamon Toast Crunch with a splash of cold Silk Soy Milk....Yum!!!! Typing about it is actually making me crave a bowl right now. LOL!

Another craving I have been having??? Oooy-goooy-yummy-gummy bears!!!! (I just said the "ooooy goooy" part because I just heard it on some reality show. Did you guys watch it? I think it was Big Brother? It was really funny. (*cricket* *cricket*) It may be a "you-had-to-be-there" moment...

Anyways, moving on...Josh did a very thoughtful thing tonight for me. He knows that the red gummy bears are my favorite so he saved me all the red ones...Awwww....So sweet! I'm telling you...the small things are just as nice as the big things. ;)

The Beans

Now that I have introduced my main squeeze, Josh, it is now time to "spill the beans" about him. Where do I start? First and foremost, he makes me happier than I have ever been...ever. He makes me laugh all the time, he is super smart, and he makes me the most delicious waffles ever...ever.

How We Met:
To make a long story short: I had a D.U.I. case to prosecute, Josh was the arresting officer on the case, I asked Josh about the facts of the case; Josh asked me for my phone number and asked me to dinner...I again asked him about the facts of the case; Josh again asked me for my phone number and asked to me to dinner. Repeated this process approximately ten times over the course of approximately two weeks. (Oh, did I mention that Josh is very persistent? I love it!)

I gave him my phone number, and we eventually went to dinner, and ever since, we have been so happy together.

Wooohooo!!!! Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Frank and Myle Gale! These two have the most beautiful love story.Please allow me to share their beautiful love story:

Myle and Frank dated for ten years! They met while Myle was in college. They were eachother's first and only love. But like all true love stories there were obstacles (I like to call them "fertalizers." ...They stink at the time, but they nourish the relationship and make it grow, just like fertalizer).

Myle's parents did not "approve" or "accept" Frank since he was not the nice Vietnamese boy that they had hoped their daughter would marry. But Myle stood by his side.

Frank desperately wanted children some day; Myle did not want children. Frank said, "Myle, I might be missing out on something great not having children, but I KNOW I would be missing out on something great if I lost you." Frank stood by her side.

Last year, Myle and Frank went to Vietnam on a trip. Myle got deathly ill. She was in the hospital for weeks, and the doctors said she might not live. Frank never left her side. He slept on cold hospital floors, he bathed her, he talked to her, he held her. His love for her warmed hearts...even the hearts of Myle's parents! They accepted him as their own son. Myle's heart too was warmed. Myle wanted to have children with Frank.

Talk about the power of love and blessings in disguise!

So here is to you, My Friends! Here's to unconditional love and to never leaving eachothers' sides!

Hey...The thirties are the new twenties...Haven't you heard?

With my childhood, adolesence, and twenties behind me, I am actually excited about my thirties. I look forward to seeing what new adventures are in store for me, what new curve balls life will throw at me, and can't wait to experience the sensations that will bring a smile to my face and warm my heart. Bring it on, World!!! I am so ready!!!

I decided to really ring in this new year of mine with the people that I care about the most...My family and friends. I threw myself a birthday party (of course with the help of loved ones. Special thanks to Ahn, Allura, Charles, Michelle and Myle). I had such a wonderful time. And again, I am touched and feel tremendously blessed to have a loving and supportive family, and wonderful, caring and fun friends in my life.

I love you all so much!!! Thank you for making my "flirty thirty" so memorable and fun. Here's to 30+ years to come!

Nope, it's just me in the sky! In August, I had the wonderful experience of flying throuph the skies of Los Angeles County with LA's Finest, LAPD. The LAPD Air Support Division was gracious enough to let me tag along for a ride-a-long. I had so much. It was an eye-opening experience. I was amazed at how much you could see from the sky. It offered a perspective that ground-level just can't. =p

Here I am still "ground-level."

It's official!!! I'm officially a Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney with....drumroll please...wait for it....wait for it...A badge!!! Uhhhh~~~I made it. Let me tell you, it wasn't easy. Early mornings, long nights, short weekends. Getting yelled at, getting laughed at and being watched. Tears. Fatigue. Stress.

But you know what??? It is/was all worth it because I love my job and I believe in what I do.

I thank God for getting me this far and being with me every step of the way. I pray that God will continue to be with me in this journey. I pray that God will give me the wisdom to do justice and to always do the right thing. I thank God so much for blessing me with so many wonderful friends, teachers, mentors, and my family who supported me, encouraged me and helped me all along. BOO!!!Did I scare you? I hope you all had a fun and safe Halloween. This year, Halloween, felt like it was everywhere, and everyone was in the Halloween spirit.

There was a Halloween roof party on Myle and Frank's roof. It was a blast and everyone was dressed up. Try to guess what we were:

Do You Believe In Magic In a Young Girl's Heart?

The ingredients to an awesome Saturday night consist of the following:

4. A spoonful of sugar.

I had a great time last night hanging out with some awesome peeps. These awesome peeps and I went out for some chow at Fogo De Chao, a very delicious Brazilian restaurant. The food was great. Myle getting her chow on, Fogo de Chao, that is. =p

And of course dinner is always better with great conversation and lots of laughter.

Next we met up with some more awesome peeps at The Magic Castle. Oh Man, the magicians there are so talented. They can read your mind, they can make things move without touching them, they can make things appear and disappear. My thoughts in one word: WOW!!!

And to top off the night we went back to Myle's place to have some be-lated birthday cake for our dear friend, Siannah. Happy Birthday, Si!

No More E.L.A.

I am no longer working at the East Los Angeles Court. My 90-day-rotation ended on September 5, 2008. I learned a lot in E.L.A., and I met some great people. I miss E.L.A. already.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

Boy-O-Boy!!! Three glorious days off! It has been so nice! On Friday, I came home and I crashed! I went to bed at 8:00 p.m. and didn't get up until the next morning at 10:00 a.m.! It was delicious and much needed sleep!

Saturday during the day I went shopping with Mom and Saturday night, I went out dancing with my Genny and some other friends! I love my Genny!

Then on Sunday it was all about Jack Johnson!

I went to see Jack Johson at UCLA with my Esther (I call her Easter Bunny)! Did I mention that I love Easter Bunny? Definately a wonderful friend!

Jack Johnson was great. However, the seating was horrible and there was way too much waiting going on. Ya know...I think I realized something about myself...I don't think I am a big fan of concerts where they are held in a big open field and everyone is pushing and shoving you for space. I much perfer assigned seating. What can I say? I'm an old fart.

Oh, how I love thou, Labor Day Monday! Oh why, oh why can't all Mondays be Labor Day Mondays!?!

Cure to Acne

Okay, so when I was younger, I had smooth, clear, beautiful skin. Really! It was like a baby's bottom. Oddly, however, recently (the past two years) I have been breaking out. I swear, pimples, and zits have permanently come to reside on my face and they have called their relatives from all over; and now they too have immigrated on my face! ERRRRRRRRRRR....It's aweful (I feel like I should be on some acne medication informercial).

Anyways, I was out shopping with mom yesterday. She looks at my face and says, "Why is your face like that? Your face wasn't like that when you were younger. Who knew that when you would get to be this age you would start getting so many pimples. You need to get married."

Huh? Did I miss something?

I asked mom, "You mean I have to get married before my face gets even worse or else no one will want to marry me?" Mom says, "No, if you get married your face will clear up."

Huh? Did I miss something?

Me: "How is me getting married going to make my pimples go away?"
Mom: "Marriage will clear up your face."
Me: "But how is me getting married going to clear up my face."
Mom: "It's a hormone thing."
Me: "Oh, I see."

Hahahaha...Okay....Apparently the cure to acne is marriage!

And Then It Hit Me!

I am no longer in the misdemeanor court here in the East Los Angeles Courthouse. Yup, that is right, folks; I am now doing Preliminary Hearings in Department 5. I have been there for about six weeks.

It is going okay so far, but the judge is a bit tough on us new bees. Today I got a little "chewed out" by the judge. My less than-two-feet-tall-feeling-self felt like crawling under the desk as this little "chewing out" was taking place. I was feeling "disanimo" (this Spanish word is a perfect description of how I felt-I can't think of the English translation).

As the day went on, however, I remembered Mrs. Cady! Mrs. Cady was my thrid grade teacher who was MEAN! She made all the little third graders cry and five kids got transferred out of her class the first month! I am sure all the crying third graders went home crying to their mommys and daddys and in turn the mommys and daddys went to prinicpal and demanded that their kids get taken out of Mrs. Cady's class.

Anyway, Mrs. Cady was tough and mean! Mrs. Cady was tough and mean to me, but at the time, I never understood why. I just thought she didn't like me.

My thrid grade self went home everyday and everyday my mommy would ask me, "Do you have homework today?" I would confidently reply, "Nope. No homework today. Can I go ride my bike now?" Mommy said, "If you have no homework, you can go play." This happened almost everyday for the first few months of when I was in Mrs. Cady's class.

One day I went to ride my bike and play again after telling my mommy that I had no homework again. After a few hours I came to my parents shop and my mom looked angry! She closed the shop for a couple hours and took me to the back. She spanked me and said, "Why did you lie to me all this time? Why did you tell me that you didn't have any homework? You just said that because you wanted to go play! Mrs. Cady came to the shop and told me that you haven't done any homework at all since the first day of school!"

I cried and cried! I told mommy, "I DIDN'T have any homework." This just upset mommy more and I got spanked even more.

I went to school the next day. Mrs. Cady called me aside and scorned, "How could you lie to your mother like that? How could you tell her that you didn't have any homework when you know you did! You know your homework everyday because I write it on the chalkboard everyday (Mrs. Cady pointing at the chalkboard)!"

I turned my head and looked at the chalkboard...And there it was...HOMEWORK...Math p. 30 problems 1-30...Spelling...Vocabulary....Reading....History...etc.

I look back in retrospect and now I realize I never knew I had homework because I didn't understand! I grew up speaking Korean in the house and so I guess I never understood what was going on in class.

At that moment, looking at the chalkboard with the word "HOMEWORK" it hit me. I think that was the first day of me "getting it." And since that day in Mrs. Cady's thrid grade class I have never missed another homework assignment since. If it wasn't for "mean-ole-Mrs. Cady" I wouldn't be here today.

My point? I believe the "mean-ole judges" who "chew me out" will too show me the HOMEWORK board. And for that, I will thank them as I do good-ole-mean-ole Mrs. Cady.

My work copartner, Dimitris Biller (I call him D, or DB), asked me today, "Can you feel the fall coming?" In a state of confusion, I responded, "Huh? What do you mean? Something bad is going to happen, like you mean the hammer is coming down?" He said, "No. The summer is almost over. Can't you feel the fall coming."

Ho hum...I don't want summer to end. The sun always makes me happy.

Three Peas In a Pod

Have you ever felt the effects of empty nest syndrome? Hmmmm...I think I feel the effects of it right now since my best friend, Judy, is leaving the California nest to spread her wings to venture out into the big city, of Manhattan, New York! Although, I will miss her IMMENSELY, I am extremely proud of her.

BUT of course, Lillian and I couldn't let Judy leave without bidding Judy a proper California farewell. And what does a "proper California farewell" consist of exactly, you ask?

Well, for one thing: Food, of course! And lots and lots of it!

First we went to Vanilla Bake Shop in Santa Monica. The cupcakes were scrumpcilicious (scrumptious + delicious), and I loved their decor. But their employees SUCK! They were so freaking rude!

After dessert at Vanilla Bake Shop we pressed on to dinner at La Terza. Mmmmm...the pastas were so good.

Then after dessert at Vanilla Bake Shop, and after dinner at La Terza, on to dessert (again) at MILK.

How do us Californians stay in such great shape? We walk...We take pictures...We shop...We even go to synagogues (not really).

And while us, Californians are out and about doing this, we manage to find great little interesting things! Just look at these little "hairy, one-eyed monsters" I found! Haahahahaha...Ahhh...What a great find, huh? You gotta love them hairy, little, one-eyed monsters! Ooooo...and look at this little purple scooter! I want one!!!

Lastly, there was a surprise finale for Judy. The three of us went to The Grand Spa in Koreatown, Los Angeles, California. It was Judy's and my first time at a Korean spa. It was quite an experience. We got to sit and relax in a steam room and in the sauna; we got to get a body exfoliating scrub, and we got to sit in a hot room and sweat out all our toxins. But the kicker is that we did all of this butt-freakin-naked!

No, you don't get to see a picture of us butt-freakin-naked! Get your mind out of the gutter. ;)

It was a great time of bonding and fun. Farewell to Judy, California style!

Do you guys have a friend that you can talk to for nine straight hours and only take a break to go to the bathroom? Do you guys have a friend that you can talk to about anything and everything? Do you guys have a friend that you can laugh so hard with that you feel like your stomache is about to burst? Well, I do!

I had the best time hanging out with one of my best friends in the whole world, Taryn, this Saturday. We met for a late lunch/early dinner at 4:00 p.m. The minute we met up we just started to spill our guts out to eachother about what was going on in our lives. We talked about family, friends, relationships, love, career, the past, the present and the future. We talked for nine and a half hours straight! We closed the restaurant at 1:30 a.m.! I really did have a blast.

Then.........On Sunday I had brunch with some girlfriends from work and got some much needed rest and relaxation at Burke Williams. I got a fifty minute massage. I had knots the size of Canada in my shoulders! OUCH!

I must say, I do enjoy girl time, and I must say, R&R rocks!

Congratulations Chaz!!! I knew you could do it!

My brother, Charles, was by no means the scholar that he is today. He was...How can I put it mildly...A bit of a meance to society. To make a loooonnnnnggg story short, Charles lost his way for awhile. But with a lot of prayer from family and friends and with the grace of God, and with a lot of hard work and self-discipline Charles came back. And he came back with a vengance, y'all!

Charles graduated Cum Laude from Andrews University in June. And in September he will be starting dental school at Loma Linda University.

Charles, I am so proud of you! We are so proud of you! And we know you will continue to make us proud.

Mom says, "Charse, I so much proud ob you."

I'm sitting in court today doing the misdemeanor calendar thinkng, "Today is going to be like all the other Tuesdays. Well, like all the other Mondays-Fridays for that matter." The judge called up some defendant about some bench warrant. All of a sudden a different defendant from another case gets up from the audience and slowly makes his way over to defense counsel table. The baliff says to him, "Hey, where are you going." The defendant ignores the question and keeps walking. I'm thinking, "Okay, this guy is a little strange."

Next the defendant pulls out the chair that was neatly tucked under the defense counsel table, lifts it up and HURLS it at the white-haired, frail little judge and yells out, "You're not the judge, I'm the judge! I'm the king of the Jews!" The chair hits the judge's podium and misses the judge by inches only!

The chair is flying, I'm screaming, people are gasping, the bailiff is cuffing the defendant and requesting back up simultaneously, other deputies come rushing into the courtroom, and the defendant is taken into custody! It was a crazy morning.

A few minutes later I say, "Goodness, can anything else go wrong today?" And I kid you not, that is when we are shaken by a 5.8 earthquake! Again, people are gasping, running under doorways, holding onto pillars and bolting under tables.

Goodness sakes, Im afraid to ask, "Can anything else go wrong today?"

I spent the evening with my dear friend of 16 years yesterday eating Thai food at Natalee Thai

and shopping at the Santa Monica Promenade. You wanna know what the funny thing is? Judy and I used to walk miles and miles to buy clothes for our barbie dolls. Now we walk miles and miles to buy clothes for ourselves! Ah~how times have changed!

Juds...I can imagine walking miles and miles with you...canes in our hands. Friends Forever!

I will admit it. I have been reading up on other people's lives through their blogs. And I must say it has been quite enjoyable. Some blogs bring a smile to my face and warm my heart, some blogs make me laugh out loud, some blogs are educational, and some blogs amaze me, and some blogs make me ponder the world...Really.

I am amazed how people "put their lives out there" and share their most inner thoughts with the world. I admire it. So, I decided to "hop on the blog waggon."

And now I welcome myself to the world of blogging! "WELCOME!"

However, as you can see I am a total amature. Hence, excuse the "boringness" and "blahness" of my blog page.

Nevertheless, I hope you and I will enjoy this "journey" together. And who knows, maybe we will even get to a "destination" together.
